Florida police believe they found the remains of four young children just hours after their mom’s body was found inside her husband’s van.

Michael Wayne Jones Jr., 38, the husband of 32-year-old Casei Jones, led detectives to the remains of the four children after he was interviewed by police, the Marion County Sheriff’s Office said.

Although the remains have not been positively identified, detectives believe they are the remains of Cameron Bowers, 10, Preston Bowers, 5, Mercalli Jones, 2, and 1-year-old Aiyana Jones.

Police suspect that Michael Jones murdered the victims in Marion County, Florida at their Summerfield home.

He then allegedly stored the bodies at his home and in his van for several weeks before transporting them to Brantley County, Georgia.

The family of Casei Jones had reported the woman as missing on Saturday and stated that they had not seen her for roughly six weeks.

A day later, her husband was located in Brantley County following a traffic accident and Casei Jones’ remains were found in the vehicle that Michael Jones was driving at the time, police said.

Cops did not say where the remains of the four children were found and it was not immediately clear how Casei Jones or her children were slain.

Marion County police said a warrant has been issued for the arrest of Michael Jones on second-degree murder charges.

“As a parent it breaks my heart. As a sheriff it angers me,” Marion County Sheriff Billy Woods told reporters at a press conference Monday.

“All we need to know is that’s evil, and evil did something, and evil needs to pay for what he did,” Woods said.
