Ask and you shall receive from Mike Trout.

The Angels star honored the request of one of his biggest fans, a 7-year-old boy from a Baltimore suburb named Gavin Edelson, by homing in Los Angeles’ game against the Orioles at Camden Yards on Friday.

Trout, whose relationship with Edelson dates back to a game in Baltimore this past summer, met with him any family in the tunnel prior to Friday’s contest, according to ESPN. It was there were Edelson, wearing his idols’ jersey, asked Trout for a home run. According to the website, Trout responded by saying: “I need to hit a home run tonight.”

He did so in the third inning, driving a 3-2 pitch from Orioles starter Dan Straily just over the wall in left-center for a two-run homer and his eighth of the season. A leaping Stevie Wilkerson was unable to rob Trout, who had not homered in his previous 17 games. He also added an RBI double in the fifth.

“I thought it was going to hit off the wall,” said Edelson, told the site. “I was so happy that he hit it.”

He and Trout bonded last summer after the former MVP saw him in a Trout jersey during batting practice holding a sign that read “Mike Trout is my idol”. The two spend most of batting practice together and Trout gave Edelson a signed bat.
